The New Hampshire House killed a compromise bill that would have legalized marijuana and set up retail sales in the state, just hours after the Senate advanced it Thursday.
The House voted 178-173 to table the bill, essentially defeating it for the year, following the Senate’s 14-10 approval. The legislation would have authorized sales starting in 2026.
All states neighboring New Hampshire have already legalized adult-use marijuana markets.
