United States Department of Treasury Announces Suspension of Specific Provisions of 1992 DTA With Russia

The United States Department of the Treasury June 17 announced the suspension of specific provisions of the 1992 DTA and protocol with Russia, signed June 17, 1992. The announcement includes: 1) that paragraph 4 of article 1, articles 5-21, and article 23 of the DTA are suspended; and 2) that the suspension will take effect on Aug. 16 and will continue until decided otherwise by the two governments, both for taxes withheld at the source and in respect of other taxes.
