A group of Texas citizens supportive of the state’s near total abortion ban is asking a federal judge for a pretrial win against nonprofits who hope to fund travel for Texans seeking an abortion outside the state.
The five citizens in a filing Friday said they are entitled to summary judgment because Texas law under four separate statutes “penalizes individuals and organizations that help women leave the state to obtain abortions elsewhere.”
