A quartet of hospital associations and health systems filed a lawsuit against the Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights on Thursday, challenging recent restrictions on the use of web tracking technologies.
The plaintiffs—which include the American Hospital Association, Texas Hospital Association, Texas Health Resources, and United Regional Health Care System—argue the OCR overstepped its authority under the APA by reinterpreting what constitutes acceptable use of data tracking software on hospital websites.
