Ryan Phelps has joined Holland & Knight as a partner in the tax, executive compensation and benefits practice group in Houston, the firm said Thursday.
Phelps’ practice focuses on the tax aspects of complex domestic and cross-border transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, leveraged buyouts, joint ventures, tax-free spinoffs, restructurings, public offerings and other financings. Much of his tax practice has some form of energy component, including oil and gas as renewables.
Phelps was previously a partner at Kirkland & Ellis.
