A former Massachusetts state senator and his sister have been charged with obstruction of justice and making false statements in connection with a sham job offer allegedly made to him by the sister’s company, the Justice Department announced Friday.
Former Sen. Dean Tran, of Fitchburg, Mass., was indicted on one count of obstruction of justice and one count of making a false statement. His sister, Tuyet Martin, of Pelham, N.H., was indicted on two counts of obstruction of justice and one count of perjury, according to the announcement.
