Experian, FedLoan Not Liable for Multiple Credit Report Errors

Experian Information Solutions Inc. and FedLoan Servicing LLC are off the hook for inaccurate information on a student loan borrower’s credit report that were corrected only after she disputed the alleged delinquencies three times.

The borrower, Chiya Lloyd, failed to show that Experian willfully or negligently violated the Fair Credit Reporting Act in how it conducted its reinvestigation, the US Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit ruled in an opinion by Judge Ralph R. Erickson, affirming summary judgment in favor of Experian.
