A former bankruptcy judge said he’s asked the Justice Department to defend him against a civil suit alleging that he improperly failed to disclose a relationship with a local attorney.
David R. Jones is seeking more time to respond to the complaint while he waits for the Justice Department to respond to his request for representation, according to a Friday filing with the US District Court for the Western District of Texas. Jones said he believes the suit will be tossed based on judicial immunity because the allegations relate to actions he took when he was a judge.
