A federal district court in California granted Uber Technologies Inc.'s motion to dismiss Enovsys LLC’s action for infringement of patents related to location-based wireless technology. According to the court, the patent claims don’t purport to solve a problem unique to the internet or computer functionality; involve collecting, analyzing, and sending location information; and don’t claim an improvement in functionality. And the court said that Enovsys failed to state a claim for willful and indirect infringement.
