Case: Discrimination/Sex Discrimination (W.D. Mich.)

A Michigan federal district court mostly denied summary judgment to Van Buren County on the claims of a veteran service coordinator that she was paid less than two other male employees for performing substantially similar work, in violation of the Equal Pay Act and state law, ruling that she showed evidence that the work of the two male comparators could be considered substantially similar, and that the county failed to provide sufficient evidence to establish an affirmative defense.
